Well, I am confused: this is the first and only program I ever stumbled upon on PBS that actually talks about our march to Fascism/Socialism.

Please elaborate, I never heard PBS talk about this with so many specifics.
My total PBS viewing time is about <1 minute a year, I just stumbled over the program title.
It seems to be a pretty good documentary - what are the objections to it?

No objections from me from the short time I watched it, just that is so not-like-PBS, that is all.
First of all...if PBS played it..you can bet it’s not conservatibe,balanced, or fact checked...

This is a pretty famous movie in some circles. I’m surprised that many here haven’t heard of this movie.
It’s a conspiracy theory movie, there are a lot out there, this is one of the most famous. It’s passed along from person to person on dvd, it’s available on youtube, has a lot of views there, etc. The filmmaker, Aaron Russo, was the director of the movie Trading Places back in the 80’s.
If it’s talking about fascism, it needs to mention the practice of forcing tax payers to fund left wing activists like Bill Moyers.
Never ingest ANY media unless you know the source....you find stuff growing on cowpatties that looks good but are poison...

This is Arron Russo’s work. He is best known for the Eddie Murphy/Dan Akroyd comedy “Trading Places” which explores the criminal manipulation of markets by the elite. And yes, we are entering Fascism, Mussolini style. An tyranical oligarchy that controls the state/corporate mechanism. The empire pimps the American military with the goal of establishing a global fascist government with the Bankers in control. The empire’s interests are diametrically opposed to those of red blooded Americans. This is an old battle. The war of 1812 was the result of the young Americans refusing to continue the grant of the Rothschilds to run the American bank. We won that war but ate crow shortly after, granting the Rothschilds a new charter because, just as they had planned, we were broke as a result of the war. GOD BLESS Andrew Jackson! He threw the foreign bankers out and we were free of them until the 1913 restoration by the Federal Reserve. Where is our Andrew Jackson today!!?? We need him!

What surprised me is that they had some irate callers because they were talking about the role the government was playing in the path to Fascism.
We know that PBS regulars and contributors are leftists, so I just thought it strange.

Look, if the film has credence for you then it does. Don’t let anyone’s opinion sway you as to it’s authenticity. Watch it more than once on youtube...there are interviews with Russo available also.

There exist a wide variety of conspiracy theory movies. This one is more from the Right than from the Left. I’d say that it’s worth seeing, but I haven’t seen it in years. FR used to have a fairly significant percentage of people who would consider conspiracy theories. Most of those people are long gone. Those who remain don’t typically discuss conspiracy theories.
Nah, I sort of watched like 15-20 minutes; the message I heard was not consistent w/PBS so it caught my eye.
I sure don’t plan to look it up knowing the source, but it did strike a nerve with the audience, and it wasn’t the usual nerve, just weird.
