Prez thinks Paterson must go

The Obama administration, fearing that Gov. Paterson is too embattled to remain at the top of the ticket, has sent a direct message asking him not to run for a full term as governor.
Multiple sources said the White House and national Democrats, fearful about Paterson's performance, low poll numbers and increasing lack of support, had decided to suggest he not run again, accelerating a timetable for their plans after the governor went on a rant claiming his poll problems are thanks to a racist media -- in which he invoked Obama's name.
"The message was delivered," said one source familiar with the events, adding that concern about Rudy Giuliani had helped drive the timeframe.
Sources said the message was delivered to Paterson through multiple people in the past week, including directly from the White House around last Tuesday's primary. The governor was deliberately not invited to attend a major Wall Street address Obama gave last Monday.
And it came just a week before the president is slated to give a major speech in upstate New York tomorrow.
The governor was let know that there is deep concern he will be a major drag on the Democratic ticket next year, concerns that became elevated as well-polling Republican Rudy Giuliani has sent increasingly serious signals about running for governor, the sources said.
The move could allow many Democrats, including black elected officials and leaders who have been privately concerned about Paterson, to switch their support to Attorney General Andrew Cuomo. Public polls all show Giuliani trouncing Paterson but losing to Cuomo.
Aides to Obama and Paterson couldn't be reached last night.

Isn't Cumo white?
More racism. We just can’t seem to escape it. So sad. So sad.

Watch YOUR back Barack! Your Marxists handlers may decide that you are detrimental to the top of the ticket. The 2010 and 2012 elections are nearing.
The white half of Obama must be asserting its racism.
Paterson must go because he might no win re-election. Rangel can stay because he will win re-election.
It has nothing to do with their positions on issues, which Obama is fine with, or Rangel’s corruption, which Obama is also obviously fine with.
Or maybe Obama just hates Paterson because he’s blind. Can’t have disabled people around, they cost too much for Obama’s health care plan.
Obama’s beginning to look more like a dictator every day. Fires the GM CEO, orders them to file bankruptcy. Now he’s firing Paterson.
Odumbo thinks he can tell evryone what to do and when ...
When will the media ask.............Does a Black man think a blind man can’t lead a state?
There is a double whammy here: racist and discriminatory against blind people.
I don’t think that Bush has ever done that..
Yeah. I thought of that, but since Patterson doesn’t wear black glasses, his blindness doesn’t work well in a photo op, so Democrats don’t care about it. Now, if he’d be willing to saw a leg off, then the liberal media would have something to work with.
Now Paterson needs to tell Obama not to run again, since HIS polls are slipping.
At some point, saying every teleprompter reading is a major speech has to lose some effect.
Where is the New York Republican Party on this? They should be screaming bloody murder about a President telling THEIR GOVERNOR what to do. Paterson has a right to run for a term in his own right if he wants to, let the people of NY decide, not Washington.
I don’t know a thing about this son of Basil Patterson, but I suspect if the people of NY were truthful they could not name one thing different under Patterson than under Spitzer.
Will Paterson go away as quietly as Van Jones? Will Paterson and liberal sycophants blame conservative racists for his problems? This will be interesting to see.
The NY GOP, like its counterpart in dozens of states, makes that quaint old word “moribund” seem lively.
