We didn’t lose ground while Bush was in office and we were fighting two wars at once.

There is a lot of false nostalgia here. Bush left office only nine months ago. The Taliban was already gaining ground then. Somalia was a complete disaster under Bush. in fact, becaame the leading crisis on the continent under his watch. He sent in the Ethiopians to topple the existing government and chaos resulted. Bush then began addiing elements of the very Islamic Courts movement he toppled to install a new government.

I don't share your apparent faith in the ability of big government (whether led by Bush or Obama) to police the world.

I did not say ANYTHING about policing the world. But if Muslim extremists in Pakistan pose a threat to our national security, we should not hestitate for a second to go in full blazes with enough force and commitment to ELIMINATE the threat. Damn the Trumanesque policy of bombing Korean end of the bridges over the Yalu and anybody who promotes the proportionate response baloney. If anybody wants to deny the United States the right to defend our security, they are not our friends. That is one reason we need to get our tails out of the UN.

The reason Bush started to fail was the lack of courage to resolutely to fight the war aimed at overwhelming defeat of the enemy, in spite of the relentless nagging and whining of the left. We have the experitise and technology to win that war outright. Fought corrrectly, war is ugly and cruel. The world should not be blaming us if we kill the enemy standing behing innocents . . . we did not put them there. It is awful. It is repugnant. But it is the only way to eliminate that kind of cowardly, evil enemy. In the long run, far fewer are killed, innocents and combatants, if you just go ahead and do it. If you don’t have the guts and resolve to be absolutely ruthless in the pursuit of your enemy, you need to fold your tents and go home, and not waste the lives and mangle the bodies of our fine young people.

I have a nephew that is about to deploy to Afghanistan. Our President, our Congress and the whiney-a$$ media, by their policies and criticism, are making his tour over there a whole lot more dangerous than it has to be. That my friend, is equally evil to the evil radical Muslims that are causing this mess.
