a bill introduced in the Pennsylvania legislature to investigate the activities of the controversial Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now -- ACORN -- is stalled in the powerful State Government Committee.
The chairman, State Representative Babette Josephs, a Philadelphia Democrat, is a member of ACORN.
The revelation of Chairman Joseph's ACORN ties came in a now long-forgotten April 3, 2008 hearing of the House State Government Committee. The hearing took place at 9:05 in the morning in room 205 of the Ryan Office Building in the State Capitol Complex in Harrisburg. The purpose of the hearing was to discuss the upcoming (April 22nd) Pennsylvania primary election preparations with Governor Ed Rendell's Secretary of the Commonwealth, Pedro Cortes

Pick a side Lady, acorn or the United States...........you have to resign from one of them it is called integrity.
ACORN was very active in Virginia.
Both links work fine for me.
It has to be a problem with your computer.
It wouldn't surprise me in the least to discover that large numbers of Democrat senators and congressmen are affiliated with ACORN - at both the federal and state levels.
That would explain how that organization got "stimulus" money by the truckload (that took more than mere lobbyists to achieve, IMO) and it would also explain the vote to cut off said funding. Some people are hoping to prevent a larger investigation, I'll bet.
We all know about their voter registration shenanigans so I wouldn’t doubt that part of their strategy was getting their comrades into elected office to continue to help feed the kitty.
The real dirt on ACORN is yet to be released and if you’re waiting for the media to release it, good luck. This organization was merrily going on it’s way while the media was focused on that subversive, Sarah Palin. They sent all of
their people to Alaska to dig up dirt that wasn’t there and
let ACORN off the hook. Small wonder thinking people are bypassing the “main stream media” for their news. We, the MSM, edit the news, unlike the internet, well thank goodness for the internet, Rush, Sean Glenn Beck and the rest. Without them we wouldn’t have a clue what the democrats are doing to this country.
he is black caucus
Sounds like a complete conflict of interest and he or the House leadership should recuse him.
WORKING THESIS Babette Josephs may have colluded to deceive constituents and may be facilitating the blocking of the vote in return for emoluments. The FBI should interrogate Babette Josephs to determine if money, jobs, and/or political cover is being used to facilitate the blocking of the vote, and whether Josephs colluded to misuse legislative influence.

NOTE WELL Elected officials are held to a higher legal authority---what is acceptable behavior for citizens might be a crime for elected legislators under oath of office.
POSSIBLE CHARGES FACED BY BABETTE JOSEPHS Official acts prohibited, misuse of government funds, abuse of public office, violating oath of office, misuse of government position, abuse of government power; conflict of interest; influence buying; conspiracy to deceive; misuse of elective office, collusion, conspiracy to collude.
Babette Josephs' official campaign finance records filed with the FEC, and the state election commission, should be scrutinized for possible violations. Determine if names of Babette Josephs's contributors are legit and whether Babette Josephs illegally used campaign funds, and whether Babette Josephs received campaign contributions to influence Conressional votes.
Babette Josephs and Obama may have colluded and agreed on something of value, a govt gratuity, a job, etc, in exchange for blocking the vote.
