President Obama said this week that his health care plan won't cover illegal immigrants, but argued that's all the more reason to legalize them and ensure they eventually do get coverage.
He also staked out a position that anyone in the country legally should be covered - a major break with the 1996 welfare reform bill, which limited most federal public assistance programs only to citizens and longtime immigrants.

If Obama pulls this off, our country is doomed as a bastion of free enterprise, innovation, increasing productivity and ever-increasing wealth, as we sink into the mediocrity and stagnancy of socialism and statism that has infected Europe.
We can only pray that Fox will cover this, because no one else will.

You all need to relax a bit on this one. What’s even more unpopular than healthcare reform w/ the American public? If you answered immigration reform then youd be right on the $$$. LOL, I just hope the dems and RINOs put the full court press on for this one. It will be the end of them forever! The added benefit is it would take the RINOs down too.
This has nothing to do with proper health care and has everything to do with trying to buy votes.
I am hoping, possibly (probably) naively though that this could backfire in the American Hispanic community. I know many Colombians and Mexicans who came to the United States because they got tired of their families getting hassled by leftist guerrilla groups and constant gang warfare. If they are worried this will happen in the US, they won’t be happy. I think. I hope. Because if this doesn’t get stopped, we’re in trouble.

Seriously, though, in my line of work I meet many immigrants, illegals or former illegals. The ones I've met who got amnesty from the 80's still don't speak English. The ones who waited in line generally learn English and become middle class. The last amnesty created a new section of permanent underclass. The next amnesty will expand it.

“Even though I do not believe we can extend coverage to those who are here illegally, I also don’t simply believe we can simply ignore the fact that our immigration system is broken,” Mr. Obama said Wednesday evening in a speech to the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute. “That’s why I strongly support making sure folks who are here legally have access to affordable, quality health insurance under this plan, just like everybody else.”
Didcha get that??? We are not talking about healthcare here folks. He admits that the “immigration system is broken”. It is not going to be the already 20,000,000 guessed to be here illegally. By not offering a solution to something he admits is broken, he intends to keep it broken, the faucet will stay wide open. That is what he is telling the caucus members. It is and will continue to be an open faucet to let in millions upon tens of millions more, until there is enough to sink the good ship.
