A secret report from the United Nations' nuclear watchdog warns that Iran has the ability to make a nuclear bomb and is developing a missile system to carry it -- an assessment that could call into question the Obama administration's claim on Thursday that the biggest threat from Iran comes from its short- and medium-range missiles.
Just hours after President Obama and Defense Secretary Robert Gates announced that they were shelving plans for a missile defense shield in Eastern Europe because of Iran's shift in strategy, the Associated Press revealed details of the secret report by the International Atomic Energy Agency. It says Iran has "sufficient information" to build a bomb.
The report, which says Iran is likely to "overcome problems" on developing a delivery system, appears to be the so-called "secret annex" on Iran's nuclear program that Washington has said is being withheld by the IAEA's chief.
But the IAEA pushed back hard against that allegation, saying the charge is baseless.
"With respect to a recent media report, the IAEA reiterates that it has no concrete proof that there is or has been a nuclear weapon program in Iran," the IAEA said in a written statement.
An IAEA spokesman told FOX News that the next formal report on Iran's nuclear capabilities is expected in November. He said the evidence suggesting Iran has a nuclear weapons program has not been verified.
But officials in the U.S. and other countries have been warning that Iran is making headway in developing long-range missiles and a nuclear weapon.

The IAEA has been downplaying the Iranian threat almost from the beginning.
With the involvement of Russia, Iran has become that much closer to developing a nuclear weapon.
And now because the Obama administration has now thrown Poland and the Czech Republic under the same bus that they threw Israel, there is nothing to stop Russia from retaking parts of Eastern Europe all over again, namely the Ukraine and Georgia. If I were China I would be a bit worried about Russian hegemony and imperialism as well. The North Korean situation isn;t helping either. If Russia does attack either or both of these separate entities, Poland and the Czech Republic can expect a lot of refugees from these areas.
Let’s see how he lies his way out of this.

He’ll ‘lie’ down and play dead, on this issue - iow, he’ll talk about more important issues, like ObamaScare, declare martial law because of H1N1, or something - anything to distract us.
The missile defense was designed to stop Iranian nukes from hitting Europe. Of course Russia had a different take on them, but that is what they were designed to do, stop Iranian nukes from hitting Europe. It was ground bases in Poland because the other European countries didn’t want to be the target for Russia.
Now that the Europeans sorry a,, is hanging out, the IAEA decides it’s time to fess up about Iran.
It’s just that our deaf and dumb numbskull is too dense and set on his stupid ways to change course. I hope the Europeans like it, now that their security hammock is being folded and taken away.
Maybe Obummer should do another apology tour of Europe.
The Administration has enlightened me again. I didn’t realize that the missile defense shield for Europe was only devised because of Iran.
