I agree.

It has not been a stellar reign thus far.

I don’t think this was the first poll showing KBH edging ahead.

14 years is ridiculous, but I can’t stomach the thought of Hutchison as our governor.

I’ve been against Perry since his TTC thing. That was going to be a multi-lane highway that would have exported even more jobs south of the border & allowed Mexican trucks to transport the goods. Hell, I think he was even allowing a mexican company to run the highway.
Plus i would have been the largest confication of private land in American history. Many ranches would have been divided with no access to the other side.
Perry has already been there too long.
Personally I think Mayor White from Houston will be the dem candidate.
It looks like another election where I have to hold my nose, close my eyes & throw a dart.

A few months ago Perry was way down, came back to the lead or near the lead during the last session of the legislature and his campaigning afterwards. The race is now becoming more focused and will get very nasty by the first of the year.

The primary on March 2, 2010 is important in other ways as some of the down ballot offices help decide the redistriction VIA the Legislative Redistricting Board after the 2010 census should the legislature not be able to accomplish that feat.

At this point if Carole ran, she’d have my vote.

She is a real RINO...and nuts to boot. Maybe Scott will enter politics. LOL!

Isn’t White setting his sites on the May 8, 2010 election to replace KBH? Isn’t Sharp being mentioned as a democratic candidate also?

I find this poll hard to believe.

Yeah, my BS meter went off too!

The survey is of likely primary voters. From the survey:

Perry now leads among men, while Hutchison has the edge among likely women primary voters. The incumbent leads among those who identify themselves as conservatives, while Hutchison is ahead among party moderates and liberals.

Polls are like statistics. You can make them come out any way you want!

Isn’t the numbers you posted about what you’d expect? Perry running hard to the right and Hutchison in the middle/left.

An anecdotal bit of info is that I am seeing lots more RP bumper stickers than KBH in north Texas.

Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison currently inching ahead of incumbent Rick Perry by two points – 40% to 38%.

Fear not, fellow KBH haters!

Sarah has yet to cross the Red River to campaign for Perry.

You would kind of expect a breakdown like that. But without a further breakdown of those surveyed it is hard to say if is an accurate reflection of how likely Republican primary voters feel. It is also a fairly small survey size and 19 percent of those surveyed were not sure. CNN's recent survey after Obama's speech which way over sampled Democrats should make us all look closely at the actual breakdown of those surveyed.

A much more interesting survey would be one that samples just registered Republicans. That might give us a better picture.
