Poll: Plurality of Americans Want Abortion Funding Banned in Health Care Bills

Has anyone other than Fox had an interview with Bart Stupak (D-MI), who yesterday morning explained in full detail that an amendment (Capps, CA I believe) was adopted to the bill out of the Energy and Commerce committee that inserts language specifically providing for abortion funding. Stupak said the pro-life caucus was denied their amendment, known in other legislation as the Hyde amendment, denial of federal funding for abortion with the exceptions. He said he was *disappointed* when 0bama claimed there would be no federal funding for abortion last week, that he's been trying to set up a chat time with 0bama to clarify that unless the Hyde language is adopted, then the Capps amendment assures federal funding.

Stupak also said they (the pro-life contingency, these are not the Blue Dogs) have the votes to kill any health care bill that does not include the Hyde language, Pelosi is claiming they're just trying to use *scare tactics*. That makes three separate factions who none can appease the other. I'm still waiting for someone to show me the bill that will get out of the House first with the 218 necessary in order for the Senate to strike the language and insert this Baucus deal, and then convince me that it will again get 218, necessary in order for it to be passed and ready for 0bama to sign.

In a related poll, 100% of unborn Americans do not want abortion funding in any bill.

Frowning takes 68 muscles.
Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.
I'm lazy.
