Why Did Holder’s Justice Department Dismiss the Black Panther Case?
Pajamas Media ^ | September 15, 2009 | Jennifer Rubin

As reported this weekend , the decision by the Obama Department of  Justice to dismiss a default judgment against the New Black Panther Party and all but one individual defendant in an egregious case of voter intimidation is now the subject of two inquiries, one by the Department’s Office of Professional Responsibility and one by the U.S. Civil Rights Commission.

-SNIP-

As to the reasons for the dismissal, some speculate that there was an effort to conceal more widespread voter intimidation or fraud which inured to the benefit of the Obama campaign. But there is perhaps something more basic and more far-reaching than that at work.

-SNIP-

And therein lies the most likely answer to the mystery as to why the Obama team would want to undo a victory in a high-profile civil rights case. The notion that civil rights laws apply to all citizens, and are not on the books merely to protect minority groups or to pursue white racists, is an anathema to the liberal civil rights establishment and their sympathetic partners in the Justice Department.

-SNIP-

“The Department must refocus on the traditional mission of civil rights enforcement.” These are well-understood code words to mean federal law will not be used to bring cases against black defendants or institutions that discriminate against whites. … Sometimes these people express contempt for fair enforcement of the law to people who silently agree that the law should be enforced fairly, but don’t dare let anyone know they think it.

This view is borne out by recent comments by Eric Holder, in explaining his hiring spree in the Civil Rights Division to the New York Times [2]:

-SNIP-

Translation: the civil rights laws will be interpreted and enforced not as protecting anyone who is discriminated against or intimidated on the basis of race, as the civil rights laws provide, but as protecting only those of certain races.

-SNIP-

The Holder Justice Department may be chagrined to learn that most Americans take exception, strongly so, to the idea that the civil rights laws are there only to protect historically discriminated minorities. But we are certainly going to have that national conversation about race [3] which Holder has been pining for.

The notion that civil rights laws apply to all citizens ...
I've shoved this fact down the Libs' throats for decades. They always choke on it too.

Obozo is discovering the problems that come from surrounding yourself with radicals. They can’t stop being radical and they’re too proud of their radicalism to keep their mouths shut.

A Barack Obama Dept of Justice will be a place of rancid corruption. Expect to see churces prosecuted but not the Black Panthers (who were fairly innocuous standing in front of a polling place dressed up for Halloween) and the complete lawlessness encouraged by ACORN.

They always choke on it too.

Because Libs are not happy with a level playing field.
They'll try to game the system and if that doesn't work, they'll change the rules in midstream. SOP.

I think it is just a matter of time before the dirty circle expands from ACORN/SEIU to include the involvement of the NBP with them in a big way.....the NBP’s do not always wear their NBP colors when they show up at events/etc

He shouldn’t be there in that job as he won’t prosecute Blacks and the legislature should demand his removal as he is BIASED. Where are any Repubbies/Conservatives on this? I know they demanded an investigation.......but not his rsignation.

Nothing new here...Holder is just a little more blatant.

If you go by "original intent," the adoption of the Fourteenth Amendment and the various civil rights laws was not intended to benefit white people but rather to benefit those who had been and were being discriminated against because of their race, that is, black people.

The fundamental basis for minority civil rights is White good will.
Holder would prefer a suicidal race war than admit that obvious fact.

In contrast with Carter’s belief that “a preponderance of those who bitterly oppose obama are racist”, I believe that a preponderance of Americans are fair minded and willing to gove then benefit of the doubt to the accused. This benevolent, non judgemental attitude allowed Obama to be elected President.
The preponderance of the American people are not, however, without principle or belief. Their principles and beliefs are not by any imaginable stretch leftist. As the leftist agenda picks up steam and is more and more fully implemented a backlash of opposition is building. We have not sacrificed our blood and our wealth to be taken over from within by a system of government we abhor. Certainly there are Marxists among us. That they have gained the seat of power is undeniable. That they will prevail, however, is not possible.
The root and bed of this nation is personal freedom and limited government. As a people we have allowed statists and elitists to run roughshod over our traditions for too long. Now they show their true colors and it is unacceptable. The leftist agenda in the US will not stand.
