RESTON, Va. (AP) - On Friday afternoons, the people coming to pray at this building take off their shoes, unfurl rugs to kneel on and pray in Arabic. The ones that come Friday evenings put on yarmulkes, light candles and pray in Hebrew.
The building is a synagogue on a tree-lined street in suburban Virginia, but for the past few weeks—during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan—it has also been doubling daily as a mosque. Synagogue members suggested their building after hearing the Muslim congregation was looking to rent a place for overflow crowds.
"People look to the Jewish-Muslim relationship as conflict," said All Dulles Area Muslim Society Imam Mohamed Magid, saying it's usually disputes between the two groups in the Middle East that make news. "Here is a story that shatters the stereotype."

Exactly, so now all the people who say “Jews Hate Muslims” etc, are going to have to have something else to answer for. Meanwhile Jihadists will in fact go on hating Jews and Christians and Hindues and everyone else.
The muslims revere their places of worship too much for that. Too bad this synagogue was not given equal reverance by it’s worshippers.
The most startling revelation in this article isn't the fact that Jews would open their a synagogue to muslims, but the fact that there are overflowing mosques, in Virginia no less.
I sure wouldn't allow crap like that to be preached my my synagogue if I were Jewish.

This didn’t say what congregation. Some Jewish congregations are very loose about their faith.
I can guarantee they wouldn’t open it for Christians.
I cannot speak with final authority, but it seems to me that it must be some kind of infraction in Islamic law to pray in a space defiled by the presence of Jews.
This is, without exaggeration, the equivalent of holding a Satanic Black Mass in an Orthodox Christian Church.
How soon til it’s a holy Muslim place and filthy Jews and Christians won’t be allowed to defile it with their presence?

actually I cannot say I have seen a temple open for a church but I have seen a church house Beth Israel in my hometown after said temple was bombed by some pointy hat folks for housing Freedom Riding “whatevers..you be the judge”
