I doubt the black Jimmy Carter likes the white Jimmy Carter out there in public blurting out what the leftist base of the Democratic Party thinks of the majority of the country which is not in favor of the Democrats' health-care plan.

Mara Liasson on the Fox All-Stars this evening opined that Carter was helping the Republicans. Maybe so...but I remember Hillary going on Matt Lauer's program and making up some nonsense about a "vast right-wing conspiracy" which was initially dismissed by pundits but soon became the media template for how the Lewinsky scandal was reported.
