Chris Christie's lead and New Jersey's voter apathy [Barf Bag Required]
NJ Voices ^ | 9/15/09 | Andrew Berenguer

I'm not saying New Jersey is in the best condition right now, but compared to other states we're not doing too bad considering the make up of our economy, and that many New Jerseyans were directly affected by the financial collapse last year.

But now some are blaming the Governor for their economic ills when in fact Jon Corzine has spent much of the last four years, with pail in hand, bailing out the under compartments of a ship that Captain George W. Bush steered with his unsound and untested economic policies into every ice burg he pretended wasn't there.

Didn’t Governor Jon Corzine increase taxes after he was last elected?

The author of the article is a political operative.

Actually, NJ has been doing relatively poorly. Corzine has done nothing to improve the situation. State spending is out of hand. Corzine is in bed with the public-employees unions. He is no friend to taxpayers.

As far as his great economic skill, who can tell? He made a fortune in finance in the boom, and got out just in time. This does not make him a genius or an authority.

It makes me imagine hanging around the casinos until a big winner eventually emerges, and then touting him as a financial genius who should run the state. Re-electing Corzine would make about as much sense as that.

Like the author of the article, I also am a “lifelong New Jersey resident.” We have that in common, but big deal! I am not sure what that shows. It doesn’t qualify one for much of anything, except maybe a citation for not knowing when to move along.

GWB's untested economic policies?

Cut taxes, economy grows, incomes go up, more revenue to the treasury!

Those weren’t exactly W’s economic policies. But Corzine needs to connect Christie to the former president some how.

I'm not saying New Jersey is in the best condition right now, but compared to other states we're not doing too bad

Another stupidass moonbat freak, telling us voters that we're uninformed and stupid for not agreeing to his candidate's socialist boondoogle schemes. Learn your facts, Moonbat:

  1. New Jersey taxpayers are ranked highest in the nation for our overall tax burden
  2. New Jersey has the HIGHEST property tax revenue per capita of any state, up 17 % since Corzine took office promising to lower property taxes.
  3. New Jersey’s unemployment rate has gone from 4.8% at the beginning of Corzine’s term to 9.2% today
  4. An upcoming $10 billion deficit for FY2011
  5. $1.2 billion in new taxes and fees for New Jerseyans in 2010
  6. His state Democratic Party being hauled off in pieces to jail, four years after Corzine promised to rid the state of corruption.
The list goes on and on. Christy's a milquetoast moderate hump, but Corzine's corruption is topped only by his incompetence. He should go back to being that union skank's nasty rich old boy toy.
