Not a good sign. Coercion is usually followed by force.

That is why breaking up ACORN and SEIU at the start is imperative for a peaceful resolution of the Obama mess. Obama cannot resort to force if he has no forces. The military's long traditions will make it very hard for them to take sides in politics, and virtually impossible to attack Americans who are only protesting. Obama needed organized shock troops, who where loyal to him, not the constitution, to break up the conservatives. ACORN, SEIU and AFL-CIO were to provide these stormtroopers. But now ACORN is being hammered, the SEIU is looking like crooks and thugs and AFL-CIO has always had questionable ethics. Trying to arm these groups now, as part of his Civilian Defense Force equal in strength to the US army, would almost certainly set off a Civil War.

An armed mob is not an army. In order to use force Obama needs a group that (1) is loyal to him alone, (2) has an existing command and control structure, (3) can be armed, organized and transported without causing the exact sort of disruption he is trying to put down. ACORN was his best bet, but thanks to Glen Beck and those brave enough to show them for what they are, arming ACORN would no longer be possible without a fuss.

If Obama resorts to force with an armed thug group (Civilian Defense Force) it would set off a civil war and the military would take sides and overthrow the government.

A civilian volunteer service corp would do nicely.

But anyway, there are degrees of force. The abuse of the legal system is the first stop.

Interesting post, but ACORN could have been an organized armed force? In every picture I see of the staff of these ACORN offices, they’re staffed with mostly overweight black women.
