Following is an open letter to my representative from Ohio, Marcy Kaptur:
The Honorable Representative Kaptur,
As a registered Democrat, I am extremely disappointed by your stand on issues that affect our district. Specifically, your support of the Cap and Trade legislation and nationalized health care.
The cap and trade regulations will be very detrimental to the creation of manufacturing jobs and will increase the already high cost of electricity in your district. It will also punish businesses and workers in the coal producing areas of the state and the transportation sector.
Your support of nationalized health care will interfere with the exercise of one of our most personal freedoms to make medical decisions, by inserting unelected government employees between us and our health care providers.
With that in mind, I can no longer support you as our Representative. Because your Congressional seat is safe for the foreseeable future my only option for representation in the House is to adopt a Blue Dog Democrat. Therefore, I will select a particular Blue Dog to support and will urge others to adopt one of their own. Conversely, if my adopted Blue Dog fails to reject the aforementioned legislation I will vigorously support his or her opponent in the 2010 election.
Although I realize this may risk the possibility of the Democratic Party losing its majority in the House, I am confident that I and many of your constituents feel these issues are of greater importance than politics.
BTW, The reason I am a registered Dem is Operation Chaos.
Why did you note “Operation Chaos”?
The reference to Operation chaos was not in the original letter, I noted it only on F R.
Rush Limbaugh’s Operation Chaos I assume.
Of course.
