Megyn and Bill just reported that Baucus will be standing alone...the Gang of Five deserted him.

A press release from Baucus says the bill would cost roughly $856 billion over the next 10 years.

That certainly cannot be true. Maybe the balance of costs to fedgov, after all those new taxes and fees, will be closer to $856B after a certain number of years, but the total cost of that legislation will be far more than $856B. Far more.

But no Republicans, not enven the RINOs bought it. That says a lot about the bill.

God grant that we can return honest, patriotic statesmen and women to office soon...like in 2010.

"Megyn and Bill just reported that Baucus will be standing alone...the Gang of Five deserted him. "

If this is true, then his career and this bill could be reaching retirement. One can dream.

I need some help here.

The Baucus plan requires the government spend $856 billion. This compares to the "Obama Plan" which costs $900 billion. The Obama Plan has the Government Option. The Baucus Plan supposedly doesn't.

Question: Do they really think we are that stupid?

In DC, $856 billion = $4 trillion

The Dems know this, but they also know that once it is passed, it can NEVER be repealed.

IMO, the end result of government run medicine will be a socialist regime that we will never oust without rebellion. So, we should consider this the line in the sand. Do what it takes to stop it now, or forever be enslaved. There is no in between.

What was striking about HR 3200, was that there weren't a whole lot of Democrats buying it either. The Dems don't need Republicans buying into any bill. Republicans can't fillibuster, nor can they hold things up indefinitely through procedure. If Democrats can't get the votes, it's because they can't satisfy their own party.

Yes. And they are correct for 45% of the population.

It's because the American people are scarying the heck out of a lot of Democrats who are thus more worried about losing their job than they are worried about Pelosi or Reid or Obama. IMHO, that's what is really happening.

The LSM was and still is hard of hearing from the 9/12 brigade. But the critters probably sneak peaked on the lawn at DC = District of Corruption. They also got an earful at their town hall meetings!!!

Pretty important that even the limpwrists wouldn’t sign on. They have to stay outside the system. If they do that, no matter WHAT is passed, we have a chance in 2010 to undo some of this junk.

If you heard Rush on monday, this bill has scores of tax break recisions (called tax increases) contained in the fine print! This tax increases hit areas totally UNRELATED to health care.

WE NEED TO HAMMER THESE MASKED TAX INCREASES!!
