It's time to draw the line on ACORN. In fact, long past time.
The group deserves not one penny of public funding. For any reason.
And the recent outrageous videos -- showing its employees giving advice on committing housing fraud to filmmakers who claimed to be looking to open a brothel -- are only the latest reason.
Yes, some officials are waking up.
* State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli said yesterday that he'd flag any state money going to the radical group.
* Attorney General Andrew Cuomo and the Brooklyn DA began probes.
* City Council Speaker Christine Quinn suspended council payouts pending the DA investigation.

I wonder how many of the acorn employees are scare poopless they are going to end up on Beck’s show now
Hope they are singing like a Canary
Fat chance.
Obama is the de-facto President of ACORN, AFL-CIO, SEIU, La Raza and the Black Panthers. NOT the President of the USA.
Congress and Obama LOVE Acorn. They are a corrupt criminal enterprise just like the Democratic Party.
Do you think that the same people that censured Wilson for one word but WON’T do a thing about the corruption, fraud and felonies of Charlie Rangel will do anything about their favorite thugs and activists?
True.
Cuomo and the Brooklyn DA will not find anything wrong. They both could be pro-wrestling refs. They will look at clear violations and fail to see anything.
While we’re at it, how about incorporating the “loser pays” rule into the court system and cutting off the air supply for the ACLU, too?
There are a lot of things about the British system of law and government that stink. “Loser pays,” however, is not one of them—it is a good idea.
Another British institution that I’d like to see transplanted to the US is a “President’s Questions” to match the “PM’s Questions” in Commons in which the Prime Minister is routinely torn limb from limb by ravening MPs.
Obama would be brought to tears under such a system. Our politicians are much too thin-skinned and could stand to learn about toughness and accountability from the parliamentary system of the UK.
