Earlier today, we noted how conservatives -- especially the conservative media -- have been targeting Democrats and liberal-leaning groups, with some notable success. Several days ago, Obama administration official Van Jones resigned after conservatives highlighted his controversial statements and actions, like signing a petition suggesting the conspiracy theory that the 9/11 terrorist attacks might have been an inside job.
Now, after two young conservatives (dressed up like a pimp and prostitute) produced videos apparently exposing ACORN employees encouraging fraudulent behavior, Republican lawmakers are trying to crush this group that they've long considered suspect. (The Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, or ACORN, is a group that helps low-income Americans with housing, voter registration, and other services.)
Just today: -- House Minority Leader John Boehner introduced legislation, the Defund ACORN Act, to sever all ties between the federal government and the group. -- Boehner, House Minority Whip Eric Cantor, and GOP Rep. Dave Camp wrote the Internal Revenue Service a letter, asking that agency to end its association with ACORN, which helps low- and middle-income Americans with their tax preparations. -- And GOP Rep. Lamar Smith, the ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee, called for the FBI and Justice Department to investigate the group.

The only question is if Barry is going to throw ACORN under the bus, like he did with Rev. Wright and his grandma?
the concept of right and wrong
these democrats do not have.
They say it like it’s a BAD thing.
The grassroots have given the GOP a (temporary) infusion of spine. How long can it last?
Just think of all the publicity and money the MSM could make if they did this sort of investigation.
Association of Constitutional Originalism Right Now.

Everything old is new again.
It sure is time.
Since Barry jetissoned them, I believe the republicans must act extremely strongly to take them out now. Get as many state attorney generals and as many county level district attorneys to start investigating ACORN all across the country. They won’t have Obama making excuses for them because how is he going to refute the videos from four or five different state offices saying what they were saying? There is no upside for him to do this, he has no political capital left to spare.
Go for the jugular, get state and local DAs get the IRS involved, have local people call the IRS hotlines and report ACORN for tax fraud, they will have to investigate, send them the Republican congressional report, send them the links to the undercover videos. The fact offices across multiple states gave the same responses without missing a beat shows this is standard operating procedure for ACORN staff across the country.
Run with it. Every average person should call the IRS and complain about ACORN, make them investigate it. send the report via email, send the links via email. Then call them back and ask if they’ve started the investigation of the local office, and stay on them until they investigate.
Note how MSNBC tries to make ACORN look respectable. “Oh they’re just a group who help low-income people vote and buy homes, and they’re being picked on by the right-wing.” No wonder why MSNBC has less viewers than the station that has those color spectrum lines at midnight.
I don’t think he can throw ACORN under the bus. The own him so he’s gotta go down with them.
I think ACORN re-organized as Community Organizers International. I’m sure there will be a shell organization still called ACORN, but the tasks, management, and key people will be working COI.
Can’t he cut them loose with one of Rahm Emanuel’s knives?
Just heard on O that he doesnt think the feds are going to investigate Acorn....

This has the Stank of Acorn all over it,,,
Nice Perp Walk...;0)
By now the world should be waking up to the fact that “community organisers” = “bullies”
It’ll be left to states huh
Until our Congress critters figure out a way to get a pay off from the Dems in exchange for letting this die by the wayside.
