The big question should remain, “Should the administration of Notre Dame be reorganized to reassure Catholic parents that the alma mater to which they are committing their children is a responsible institution, and not a den of iniquity?”
The only way for this to be done is with an audit sponsored by the church, much like the audit being conducted with the non-cloistered nuns of America. Depending on the results of that audit, it is without a doubt that American Catholics would welcome the audit being expanded to other Catholic institutions.
The pressure has to come from the alumni and Rome. The school is a disgrace.
