World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) CEO Linda McMahon appears primed to run for Senate in Connecticut and should make an announcement very soon, according to sources with knowledge of her deliberations.

“A decision is imminent, and she will likely make a decision over the next couple of days,” said a Republican strategist. “It will be made sooner rather than later.”

One well-placed source said McMahon is “99 percent” in. Another said the announcement could come as early as Wednesday.

Can you smell what the Rock is cooking?

Will she have Rick Derringer play "Great American" at her rallies?

Seroiously though, anyone is better than Dodd, she has tons of money, and she should have decent shot. Connecticut already has a GOP woman as Governor who could well be Linda's twin sister they look so much alike. Rell is pretty popular in CT and McMahon may well win because when people see her they'll think they're voting for Rell. But the fact that they've already elected a GOP woman to statewide office should help things.

With Jane Norton in CO, Kelly Ayotte in NH, Carly Fiorina in CA, Sue Lowden in NV and now apparently Mrs McMahon in CT the GOP could have their own year of the woman like the dems had in 92. All of them probably won't win but they should have a decent chance in CT, CO, NV and NH. CA is a tall order.

Should be interesting to see what happens.

Why not? Jesse Ventura and Al Franken did it.

At her worst, she is less clownish than Franken.
Fact is, she is partly responsible for the incredible success of the WWE.

She should run as a Dem and get elected. SHe could then hold a joint press conference with Harry Reid. During that conference the newly elected Fiorina could come out and start to threaten them...she could claim that the GOP is taking over. When Reid goes to attack her, Linda could crank him over the head with a chair and announce that she’s caucusing with the Republicans.

They could start doing “run ins” on all kind of Senate committees where they’d devliver serious beatdowns to unsuspecting Dems.

Why not? Jesse Ventura and Al Franken did it.

Connecticut does not deserve that kind of representation.

Let the GOP voters hear what the real candidates have to say and make a responsible decision. Too bad there are too many RINO's here. I know the person that I will vote for in the primary will always lose.

Always happens.

Just like Fred Thompson in the 2008 primary, he got 13 votes in my town of 45,000. I was one of the lucky 13 who voted for him.

Maybe I should move to Texas.

So is this a serious conservative, or is she another celebrity “wannabe politician”?

"Connecticut does not deserve that kind of representation."

If they voted for Dodd they did, but America doesn't.

Isn’t Peter Schiff running for Dodd’s seat as well?

Should be an interesting GOP primary up there.

I am sure she is more qualified than Franken.
Probably more qualified than Hillary was , and more Conservative than McCain, and indubitately more honest than Chris Dodd. But then so was Willie Sutton.

From Wikipedia:

In August 2009, a spokesperson for the WWE stated that Linda McMahon is considering a run as a Republican candidate for the 2010 Connecticut Senate race for the seat currently held by Democrat Christopher Dodd.[4] Her history of campaign contributions, dating back to 1990, has included both Republicans and Democrats,[22] as she donated to Sen. Joe Lieberman in 2006,[23] and Rahm Emanuel in 2008.[24] She also donated to the Republican Majority for Choice in 2006,[22] a Political Action Committee favoring abortion rights and the ‘Big Tent’ appeal of the GOP.[25]

And so is Rob Simmons, the moderate, former GOP congressman. Indeed it will be an interesting primary.

So let's vote for em because they're women - regardless of whether they are conservative or not? Fiorina is a RINO. Here is the true conservative in that race:
Chuck Devore

Norton in Colorado? No thanks RINO. Here is the true conservative in that race:
Ryan Frazier
