NJ Gov: Is Corzine Coming Back?
Washington Post ^ | 9/14/09 | Chris Cillizza

Posted on 09/15/2009 9:17:51 AM PDT by Rodebrecht

New Jersey and national Democrats have spent the last few weeks insisting that Gov. Jon Corzine is making a comeback in a race that as recently as last month looked unwinnable for him.

As evidence, they cite the barrage of negative stories about former U.S. Attorney Chris Christie (R) as well as a new Monmouth University poll that shows Christie's lead shrinking nearly in half in the last month. "This race has been getting closer for more than a month and almost every poll shows that," said pollster Joel Benenson who has been working with Corzine since August.

Of course he’s coming back, and he will win in November. Bet on it.

Of course there are negative stories about Cristie, that’s how the media helps their liberal politician friends.

Well, Christie Whitless won there, so it’s not impossible. Corzine is such a POS, it’s hard to imagine him being reelected.

This happens constantly in NJ, doesn’t it? I remember that Doug Forrester was pretty much named winner a few elections running, and that never happened!

Reading the headline made my blood pressure go up, but after reading the article it’s clear to me that Cillizza was spun by someone in the Corzine campaign who is trying to make lemonade out of lemons. The article is actually very critical of Corzine, where he stands in the polls and his chances of winning.

Monmouth University, now there’s a bastion of unbiased opinion if there ever was one.

"Of course there are negative stories about Cristie, that’s how the media helps their liberal politician friends."

Yes.

The article makes it sound like these negative stories just happened to appear at a time opportune to Corzine.

Anyone who didn't expect them is hopeless in terms of grip on reality.

The pooling places will be jammed with the dead and dying voters. People may be kidding themselves if they think there will be a relative conservative voted into office.

Other than Torricelli (who was replaced because he was going to lose for sure) all of Forrester’s dem opponents had much better approval and favorable ratings than Corzine. The voters in NJ really don’t know a lot about Christie and they probably don’t care, they just really hate Corzine, that’s why he will lose

NJ is one state where elections can be won simply by going down and paying those six guys sitting in lawn chairs outside a construction site...

I hope you’re right. I don’t live in NJ, but just observe him from afar, and he seems to be no good!

” As evidence, they cite the barrage of negative stories about former U.S. Attorney Chris Christie (R) as well as a new Monmouth”

Yep the msm is in full smear mode and this story is part of the smear. Unfortunately enough of the people of New Jersey will fall for it like they always to and Corzine the crook will win again.
