Asked about projections of a $1.6 trillion deficit and a growing U.S. debt obligation to other countries, Geithner said the Obama administration still wants to avoid an increase in income taxes on the middle class. The secretary noted Barack Obama's pledge against such a hike during his presidential campaign and said Obama remains "very committed" to it

Translated, it means that when Congress hikes taxes, the jOker will shrug his scrawny shoulders and claim that just because he was 'very committed', that didn't mean that he would actually fight to prevent it.

Timmy, when are you going to learn that any tax on the middle must be hidden. That new car the middle class is buying from GM is a hidden tax for heath care for the union. The One forbid, anyone should see the taxes they are paying. As already reported the Bush tax cuts are expiring, so you blame the tax increase on Bush for failing to make it permanent.
