Several Chicago readers and Twitterers report that ABC News anchor Charlie Gibson told WLS-AM Chicago talk show hosts Don Wade and Roma this morning that the reason he hasn’t covered the ACORN scandal is that he didn’t know about it.

You can't really expect them to know. After all, they've only got an army of researchers and lawyers and millions of dollars in annual budget and they can only do so much. They are too busy turning over rocks in Alaska to dig up dirt on Sarah Palin, or checking out the military background of Joe Wilson so they can smear him. They only have time and money to investigate conservatives. They can't be bothered with liberals, groups like ACORN, or checking on why Barack Obama has spent so much time and trouble keeping his birth records secret.
