HARTFORD — An official from the White House came to the state Capitol on Monday to deliver a message to the grass roots: The Obama administration wants to help local faith-based groups in their work.

DuBois said President Barack Obama wants his office “to be that connection point, the facilitator between the federal government and both faith-based and other nonprofit organizations. This is something that’s in President Obama’s DNA.”

I was certain when Bush proposed this stupid idea that it would eventually come to this.

At what cost (in terms of elements of faith)? What tenets must be repudiated before the group is acceptable to big daddy government?

“That is no country for old men.”

Hmmm...I don’t see a definition of “faith” in the article.

And ACORN will sit in the front pews and will pass the plate.

Religious groups should have the same access to government as ACORN does. Nothing wrong with that. Its how it is handled and who gets the aid.

Banning churches from participation does nothing. Liberals just create ACORNS out of black churches and aren't dependent upon white churches the way conservatives are.

What is really "in 0bama's DNA" is communism, with its typical tactic of infiltrating and subverting non-communist groups like the faith-based charities.

0 never regularly attended church as an adult until an advisor suggested doing so would help his political career. He then joined the Marxist, racist church of Jeremiah Wright.

"This is something that’s in President Obama’s DNA.”

Like heck it is. But he can produce his original birth certificate as a starting point for his counter-argument.

...in much the same way that he “aims to work with republicans in congress”.

Yes. And that amount of "access" should be NONE.

Yes. Bunch of hypocrites. I hope a lot of people leave similar comments at the New Haven Register article.

All that is needed is fill in the form and click. No email address. No registration.

The reporters on the Register are not all whacked out. Lots of them began working there in the early 70s when, if they were libs, they weren't out and out Alinskyites. They will pay attention to reasoned responses.

Obama sat in a racist, Marxist, black liberation church for 20 years—is that the grassroots he’ll be reaching out to. I’m sure there are churches and synagogues in major cities that will be eager to embrace his agenda and believe that big government knows best how we all should live. I wonder how people can scream “Keep your hands off my body” but don’t scream just as loud, “keep your hands off my wallet, my healthcare, my energy consumption, my airwaves, etc.” You would think they would want “limited government” just as much as we do.

A legitimate position. No money to any church. People have the right to decide that. What I object to are judicial end runs around the constitution which ban funding under the guise of the establishment clause of the first amendment.

"And ACORN will sit in the front pews and will pass the plate."

Exactly. Just like how Hitler and the SS infiltrated the Protestant(Evangelisch)church and implement hitlers plan to ""Take over the churches from within, using party sympathizers. Discredit, jail or kill Christian leaders. And re-indoctrinate the congregants. Give them a new faith – in Germany's Third Reich."

Their goal, in short, was to undermine the Scriptures and doctrinal standards in favor of Nazi propaganda. The party line was to become the 28th book of the New Testament, "the Gospel according to Adolf".

It wasn't just the Jews Hitler wanted to eliminate, but Christians as well.

All we have to do is substitute "Hitler" for "Obama", The pattern is identical in every why.

We now know why Obama's campaign was so important to him. It was a stop to pray and vow to his idol, Adolf, that he would finnish his work.
That Hitler is held in such high esteem by a muslim is not surprising at all. Mein Kampf is still one of the best selling works in Muslim countries.

re: “aims to work with republicans in congress”

Ah yes, the old “say yes, do no” approach. A very effective way to impede an opponents progress. It works so well because it takes a while for the opponent to figure out what you're doing and by then you've bought valuable time to figure out your next move to thwart them. Since it's really nothing more than a refined method of lying I would expect Obama to be very good at it.
