Database: See Every Gift Given To State Leaders

Sep. 14, 2009

So far during the recession, California's leaders, their staffs and their relatives have taken about 12,000 gifts worth a total of $833,000, according to a Bee analysis of tens of thousands of lobbyist disclosure forms.

Legislators say these gifts, which include more than $150,000 in tickets to concerts and sporting events, don't affect the way they vote. Campaign watchdogs counter that they are just short of bribery.

The “art” of Politics has devolved into a Vast Criminal Conspiracy.

Two words: TERM LIMITS.

We already have term limits in California and it seems to have made things worse. Term limits seem to have focused many state assembly members and senators on sponsoring legislation that benefits left-wing niche organizations that they hope to be employed by, after their time is up, as executive directors or lobbyists “earning” $200,000-500,000 per year.

Guess by the way whose pockets the $200,000-500,000 per year comes from, since no one in their right mind (other than the likes of George Soros and the CA legislature) would pay a dime to further what most of those organizations stand for.
