David Shusters Tea Party Twitter Comments
http://twitter.com/DavidShuster | 09/15/09 | Vanity

Posted on 09/14/2009 9:48:37 PM PDT by Ballygrl

I started following David Shuster today on Twitter after a friend commented that only 30,000 attended Saturdays rally and her info came from his Twitter. It's ticking me off that Liberals are allowed to get away with this lying. Can anyone comment on these 2 Tweets from Shuster?

The 1st Tweet I'd like clarification on:

I've covered rallies at dc capitol for 20 years. When the crowd goes only as far as 3rd st, it is 50,000 or less.

And the 2nd Tweet:

Freedomworks says their dc demonstration attracted 30,000 people. Park police official says that is being "generous."

So my questions are this, didn't the rally go past 3rd St.? what exactly is this fool referring too?

And Freedom Works never confirmed a number of protesters, right?

Thanks!

I don’t know anything about this tweet stuff. What I do know is that on Nov. 15, 1969 I was on riot control duty in Washington DC with the Marine Corps out of Quantico. We were secreted into the Capital Building in the middle of the night before. I can tell you that from the photos I’ve seen, the crowd looked very close to the ‘millions’ that we visible from the top of the done on that day.

That’s why I don’t understand why the liberals are purposely low-balling the number, my eyes don’t lie, I know I saw almost a million people, no way was it 30,000.

30,000 is a half-full football stadium. An old stadium.

"..Pete Piringer, public affairs officer for the DC Fire and Emergency Department. Piringer “unofficially” estimated that between 60,000 and 75,000 people had shown up..."

The above is the figure O'Reilly used. Anything Schuster "twits" will be slanted to the left's advantage.

You really need aerial photos to get a good estimate and that is restricted air space, but the 30,000 figure is almost certainly too low.

You’ve stumbled upon the secret truth of all libs...they can-not count. Honest to you know who! ~ Numbers baffle them. I came upon this truth a couple of years back. A Blue Dog Democrat at work just opined the same to me the other day. Independent verification coming from all “accounts” - ha!

30,000 people estimated is a joke, does anyone believe the big house in Michigan would have been 75% empty if everyone . One lady on Hannity’s show said there were 45,000 buses of people involved in the rally. That doesn’t count people who took the train, plane, or drove themselves.

With just 30 people per bus that would be 1.5 million alone. If she said 4,500 buses that would be 150,000.

The only thing that would convince decisively would be an analysis of aerial photos if any were taken or could have been taken.

Schuster made his way up the lying leftist ladder by framing “news” with Hissy Mathews. Now he’s a flat out liar in his own right.

Once in a while I’ll tune in to hear the blather but it’s rare that you can go a segment and listen. It’s that bad. It’s full of vitriol and lies and not necessarily in that order.

Tonight what little I saw was just a vile attack on the protestors. They seem to not be able to find the words to call protestors patriotic. It’s not longer at the top of their list anymore to voice dissent.

They absolutely hate it. He had on a guest that was equally venomous. Acted as if the election where a lying Obama deceived the nation on who he is means no one can dissent or protest.

It was profane. No other way to describe it. Schuster is beneath contempt.

All that matters is that the million or two million that showed up on 9/12/09 result in turnout that surpass our voting totals in 2008.

Face it, the conservatives were NOT eager to go out and vote for McLame and not enough truly understood what Obama was despite our warnings and predictions being exactly right. The left was energized to go out and vote for Obama.

Now the independents realize what a mistake they made, senior citizens want him gone ASAP and the youth that supported him in droves have or will be graduating and cannot find a job. Obamamania is no more. Sure he will have the DUmmies and KOSmunists because they will never leave the reservation but his crossover support is burned to the ground like so many destroyed bridges.

Let them low ball us. Let them misrepresent us. Let them spread lies and disinformation all they want. The MSM through Van Jones and the ACORN tapes has been shown to be morally bankrupt to all but themselves and the true believers. We don’t even need something groundbreaking like the Contract With America to nationalize the Congressional elections. It’s been done for us.

Let the left believe these lies at their own peril. We know how things will turn out in the end. If the Town Halls and the two news stories I mentioned prove one thing is that the old playbook will not work anymore and stories that try to be killed by omission grow even bigger and are more apt to be reported accurately without the “open sewer” of MSM spin control.

The media and political culture has changed faster and further than I could have ever imagined. All it took to create was $787 billion in a false stimulus bill that every representative admitted they didn’t vote for before they read it. This was as easy for Americans to understand as the House Bank and Post Office scandals were.

Let them say only 30,000 showed up. The rest of us know better.

O”Reilly is totally bogus as well.
I spoke to my friend in DC that was at the rally, and asked her where she and her election night gang were situated. She told me matter of factly that they were to the left of the stage 500 YARDS BACK!!! That is five football fields long, and that wasn’t the end of the crowd. She told me that it went from the steps of the Capital Building all the way to the Washington Monument, and that there were people coming and going all day long.
Plus let’s not forget the 40+ Tea Parties that were going on throughout the country.
Her favorite sign was of George Washington with the cartoon bubble over his head saying, “WTF”.

LMAO!!!!!

If you start the crowd at the reflecting pond and go back on the Mall only in the center as in Forrest GUmp and Farakahn's Million Man the numbers seen about crowd size and street location fit. This crowd started at the steps. I was told by the police that they were only letting 80,000 in to the area between the steps and the pond and they had that tightly controlled. There were "overflow" areas on each side that each had as many folks. So you had 80,000 times three just around the building without even getting back to the reflecting pond and you can see there were folks all around it. One could not hear unless you were right up in the middle and you couldn't get within 500 yards of hearing anything so folks were just milling about the Mall. While the speakers were speaking the walks all up and down the mall were full of people walking around.

In any case the size of this crowd isn't the main thing. Check the cam footage of the march itself. The police made the march start early because the crowd was "too big" so the march starts at 0830 and Pennsylvania Ave. is full from one end to the other until 1130. Pretty easily close to two million folks.

Our bus held 54 persons. I had an email last week from Freedom Works or the 9/12 group, I forget now, that said over 5000 busses had applied for parking permits. Any busses not receiving permits could unload passengers but would have to cross the river and park in Virginia.

We heard that many busses arriving Saturday morning, could get nowhere near the Capitol. I don’t know what their passengers did. That might answer why people were still arriving at the Capitol 3 hours after the march started.
