The leftwing blogosphere has been trying to convince themselves and others that the attendance at the 9/12 Washington, D.C. Tea Party was fairly small. However, there is one really big problem for them. How to explain away a highly inconvenient time lapse video from a camera showing massive numbers of Tea Party folks parading down Pennsylvania Avenue (video below the fold). The way they get around to explaining away what our lyin' eyes tell us on that video is to devise the most hilarious set of conspiracy theories you can imagine.
Why is flag in the video at half staff? How come it is suddenly at full staff? Why does a man appear and suddenly disappear in the video? The flag flap doesn't match the wind speed. Etc., etc., etc..
I could go on and on explaining their bizarre conspiracy theories but please allow your humble correspondent to present them in their own highly entertaining and comedic words which you can also see at the Democratic Underground and the Daily Kos. The DUers kick off the comedy show by presenting absurdly low numbers:

PING!
Nut jobbery is a full time job.
They should go see if ACORN has any ideas about how to legitimize it.
The harder they try the more scared they look.
DUFU related FYI
Pretty hard to argue with this opening C-Span shot...

I think the guy announcing it was having a hard time wrapping his brain around it. Almost like he couldn’t understand what it was for
These people are crazy. 75,000 people? That many? Come on, there can’t be more than 100 people in that video. I think a lot a them are carrying cardboard cutouts to make the crowd look larger. If they each carried 750 cutouts, that would do it. Yes, I’m sure that’s how they did it.
What they have yet to find out is that those photos were faked by the same guys who set the charges at the base of the Twin Towers (the individuals who faked the moon landings unfortunately weren’t available).
I’ll subscribe to what Mark Levin said to a caller earlier in the evening. I’m paraphrasing, “Okay, there were only three. That make you happy? There were only three and you’re goin’ down.”

I heard there were 4.
The left is soooooo lame.
I just checked out DU for the heck of it. The best part about it is that they think the media underestimates the numbers at their rallies!! Wow, even the medias allies are turning on them.
Thanks for the link. That is the first time I have seen a panning shot that clearly shows a lot more people than anything else I have seen.
We’re talking about the same bunch of kooks that have convinced themselves that the DOD actually attacked the Pentagon. In their brains, they have wished themselves into an alternate reality, erasing an airliner and its passengers and all of the eyewitnesses which means that I apparently I don’t exist in their drug-addled dream world. Similarly, their alternate reality cannot accept what has transpired in Iraq after 2006. If only these ill-educated Marxist scum could physically transport themselves in their lala land...
couple of posters and I worked out there were 450,000 people stretching from the Willard to the Capital Building.
Then the video continues to roll with another 400,000 passing through.
Total 950,000
Not all people went down Penn. Ave so the actual count is much higher.
No, not all went down Penn Ave. The Florida delegation led the march and when we got to the Capitol, the entire area was already filled with people. We stood across the street, just in front of the reflecting pool.
Two hours later, people were still marching in from Penn Ave.
