Taking It To The Streets

Media Bias: When Americans have to turn to the foreign press for truthful reports of the size of popular protests in Washington, it's time to wonder: Are we dominated by "state-run media"?

The wide-lens shots of oceans of people on the streets of Washington, D.C., even wider than the one above, make it clear that last Saturday's mega-rally against government spending and high taxes was one of the most extraordinary grass-roots events in history.

Protesters carried placards with slogans like "I'm Not Your ATM" and "ObamaCare Makes Me Sick." Addressing the throngs, Rep. Mike Pence of Indiana, third-ranking Republican leader in the House of Representatives, called it "the largest gathering of conservatives in American history."

Riling up the crowds, Pence declared: "We the people do not consent to government-run insurance that will cause millions of Americans to lose the insurance they have, and that will lead us to a government takeover of health care in this nation."

The momentous national "Taxpayer March on Washington" comes right on the heels of a presidential speech to Congress that was designed to undo the effect of this summer's revolts against health reform at congressional town hall meetings.

It also came on a day that the president was addressing a crowd numbering only a fraction of the total that turned out on the streets of Washington — 15,000 health reform supporters at the Target Center in Minneapolis, a venue that can hold over 25,000.

And yet the establishment media in America are reporting on the historic demonstration as if it were just another protest by another interest group. ABC News tallied the count at "as many as 75,000," citing D.C. Fire Department estimates.

The cauldron is bubbling and is about to reach a boiling point. The people have HAD ENOUGH!!!!

Let’s take up what RUSH has said today. I will be there. Tell me where to go.

The people need to gather in front of the media outlets. Let’s pick a national day of “WHERE IS THE MEDIA?” and show our resolve!

Rush had a great idea! I think all of us, each in our own state, can take up this cause and march or sit-in in front of media outlets, stations, etc.

This is an excellent idea. The SRM’s failure to even mention Van Jones and the other radicals in the Obummer Administration, their failure to air the ACORN tapes, and their cheerleading of the health care bill is a betrayal of America and the principals upon which it was founded.

I have no doubt that SRM is responsible for at least 15,000,000 Obummer votes, and 20 points on the positive side in his current approval ratings. It is time to let them know that their agenda has been exposed. I wonder what impact a massive nationwide rally at various SRM headquarters would have on their big sponsors?

["the largest gathering of conservatives in American history." ]

O'Reilly had the nerve to call it a crowd of 75 thousand and Britt Hume didn't correct him.

AND, this crowd of conservatives were neat and clean....compare..

I heard that and I started to scream at my TV. I have always defended O'Reilly because I have considered him a fair and balanced. Instead he has proven himself to be a so called Independent who is ashamed to admit his is a liberal

I am just like you. I have watched him for so many years and thought he was fair, and always ‘up’ on his facts. I have been sadly disappointed to see him go so ‘hanky-panky’, trying to please everyone now.

Beck will soon surpass him in ratings and O’Reilly will learn his lesson - maybe.

Glenn BEck, on Greta right now, just said that a count was taken by whomever figures such things, from the photos and estimates 1.7 million were at the Tea Party - and I think she said that Glenn is going to reveal another tape on Acorn on her show? - smart, if so, all the people who can't catch Glen on his dumb time slot will be able to see it

That is exactly what he is doing trying to please everyone. As educated as he is, he should know you can not please everyone

I had him figured out a while ago. I don’t watch him anymore. It doesn’t surprize me he said that. That’s why I call him “Oh, REALLY!”.
