Patrick Swayze has died after a nearly two-year battle with pancreatic cancer. Swayze's publicist Annett Wolf says the 57-year-old "Dirty Dancing" actor died Monday with family at his side. He came forward about his illness last spring, but continued working as he underwent treatments. It was 1987 when Swayze became a star with his performance in "Dirty Dancing," a coming-of-age story set in a Catskills resort. The 1990 film "Ghost" cemented his status as a screen favorite.
Swayze played a murdered man trying to communicate with his fiancee through a spirit played by Whoopi Goldberg.

He did, and I think he was married to the same woman for a long time. I always like that in a guy.

Yes. It is the absolute outside time window.
Most people don’t even have symptoms or are diagnosed until there is 3-4 months left.

Cant forget Big Trouble in Little China. One of my favorites.Sorry, that was Kurt Russell.
However, if you want to see Patrick Swayze in a comedy, where he really shows his acting "chops," you won't want to miss "Waking Up in Reno."
He holds his own quite well with Billy Bob Thorton, Charlize Theron, and the amazing, late, Natasha Richardson.
He was an awesome actor, capable of playing a great breadth of roles, from sweet, to dangerous, to down-right goofy when he wanted to.

Sorry, that was Kurt Russell.I know. I realized it too late. I sometimes get the two mixed up. I have asked for my post to be pulled. I suppose in the meantime I will have to suffer the corrections. :(

I loved him in The Beast.
To bad he was not healthy when he signed on to that series. It was easily the best show on TV and would easily have been on for several more seasons. The only other series that compares in dark and gritty realism was Battlestar Galactica.
