Of all the cancers that exist, this is the one I hate the most. My best friend in the world died of pancreatic cancer at age 36. From her diagnosis to the day she died was less than 3 months. The last few weeks, she was put into a drug induced coma, as the Docs said the pain would actually kill her. This disease shows no signs until it is too late to fight it.
I miss you each and every day, Mel.

Prayers for your friend, MOgirl. And for Patrick of course.
They both obviously brought a lot of joy to this world.
I’m so sorry to hear about your best friend. My mother-in-law also had pancreatic cancer. She was only 54. My husband was her only child. Her only symptoms were back pain and some stomach/intestinal discomfort. After her diagnosis, we had 9 months with her, but with all the different chemotherapy treatments she tried (6), it largely was 9 months of pain and anguish. The pain she endured, oh my Lord, you just cannot imagine. She, too, was in the same situation with the coma. They told us the pain of it is just too much for a person to bear, given the location of the pancreas, it is difficult to get the pain medicine to actually ‘hit’ in that area. It was so completely horrible. We just watched her slip away a little more each day.... devastating.
My prayers tonight with be with his family.
