I disagree. Conservatism is the proper attitude of man towards ordering his existence in a fallen world and an imperfect humanity.

Conservatism as I know it contains precisely the opposite view, that man is by nature defective and cannot be perfected (short of the fulfillment of the heavenly purpose).

I do know of their intentions and thinking. They were conservatives indeed, who understood mankind as imperfect, and of the impossibility of perfection on earth. You have got them precisely backwards.
We will have to agree to disagree... I wouldn’t want to live in that world... and I do not.
