The drink prices were obscene

$12.50 for a martini up ... beyond obscene.

The bar setup in my room however was quite reasonable, although lacking in good company.

On banquet night I was able to scarf up enough free drink coupons from teetotalers to dine in comfort.

Yes - someone had a $135 bar tab billed to me room, and I’m one of those teetotalers.

Must have been the guy who tried to get into my room on 3 separate occasions after the banquet, the third time going so far as to bring security to let him in.

“Excuse me sir, is this gentleman staying in your room.”

“No, I’ve never seen him before.”

Regardless, I convinced the front desk I wasn’t the guilty party and to drop the bar charges. No harm done.

Wife and I had a great time. My personal thanks to Brittani, Seekthetruth, Jim Thompson, Col. West, Lloyd Marcus, Lisa Norton (and son), and all the others who did such a great job and put forth the effort.

That’s pretty normal in DC. Probably the only place that would have a free happy hour is an Embassy Suites.
