Stevens sold out to Westpoint-Pepperill in 1988. Not sure how many of the Stevens plants are still open.

Almost none. My wife was a linthead for 15 years. All the plants were closed in the late 1980’s and early 90’s in NC. JP Stevens, Burlington, Cone all gone. The White Oak plant in Greensboro is about the only one left now.

Some may still be in operation, but the post-receivership company name is now Westpoint International. I think we can guess what that indicates.
