Obama's youth recruitment continues unabated with last week's co-announcement by Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano and Girls Scouts CEO Kathy Cloninger of a new "Preparedness" patch for Girl Scouts. Yep, the Girl Scouts are the latest DHS/Obama recruits..As Yahoo Daily News reports in an article entitled "US Girl Scouts prepare for war, pestilence," The move is part of a month-long government effort to make Americans better able to cope with natural and man-made disasters. The Doug Powers blog astutely comments, “Man-made disaster” is of course Hopenchange speak for “terrorist attack.” No doubt the Girl Scouts will also be taught that “in the event of a terrorist attack, do not call it a ‘terrorist attack.’”
Note: the actual guide/manual on the "Together We Prepare Patch" focuses on natural disasters nevertheless news reports indicate The new patch will focus on being prepared for all sorts of emergencies, from fires and earthquakes to a flu pandemic or a dirty bomb. The alliance is with DHS (rather than, for example, the Salvation Army) makes such suspicions and, perhaps, the reality itself inevitable. The DHS was created after 9/11 to take charge of airport and border security, natural disaster response, anti-terrorism efforts and a host of surveillance and security programs. TO say the author of the piece is a bit errr...disgruntled and a lefties would e an understatement.
But then since the GSA leadership, for years, have had a real leftie bent, it is odd that the two don’t see eye to eye.
I would note the Boy Scouts were based on the British experiance of the the Boer War and the sad state of the youth drafted to fight.
Unless I'm quite mistaken, this is inaccurate.
Generally, the wiretaps were on communications from outside the US to US citizens.
If the mafia don has a wiretap on him, the cops aren't required to get an additional warrant for everybody he talks to.
Since the Congress authorized the President to use force in Iraq, and very carefully never rescinded this authorization, I’m curious why the author thinks the war was unconstitutional.

Whatever happened to the notion that parents and society should protect children from fear and make them safe?
This must be why the boy scouts also participate in preparedness drills and even have a merit badge called emergency preparedness. Oh wait they have done this for years and besides the boy scouts are the good guys. I think it admirable that the girl scouts are doing this. I would not even have a problem with doing some of it in schools and I am of the hide under the desk when the missile warning goes off generation.

Heh, heh. You make a VERY good point.
The author is anything but a lefty. She is a consistent defender of civil liberty and smaller government across the board(even during Republican administrations!!!) There are plenty of "righties" who are against Obama's warw and plenty of lefties who are for them.
Many have been working to “socialize” our youth for a VERY long time.
Look up where “The Pledge of Allegiance” came from.
