LOS ANGELES, Sept 12 (Reuters) - Actress Tina Fey won an Emmy on Saturday for her uncanny portrayal of former Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin on "Saturday Night Live," while pop star Justin Timberlake also was honored for his appearance on the NBC network's veteran sketch-comedy series.

....my feeling is that all Emmy and Academy awards are skewed Left....same for Nobel prize for literature....there hasn't been a white American-born male winner since John Steinbeck in 1962.

The Oscars aren’t all that skewed. Look at the Best Picture winners. Generally a fairly conservative bunch with a few exceptions.

I only watch the awards shows to see the dresses. It is obvious they are nothing but far Leftys giving awards to themselves. What a phony world they inhabit.

It was well deserved. Tina’s spoofs were funny as hell.

How do you justify giving an award for one single spoof-performance that in 10-20 years, no one will know what it was all about?

Didn’t she do it throughout the year? Most TV is pretty ephemeral.

Yep. Paul Shanklin, the white male comic/impersonator who perfectly portrays Obama's voice and style in his litany of lampoons, speeches, songs, etc., will certainly never be considered for such awards. Because, as you said, the Left controls these 'prestigious' awards.

I have to agree Tina’s spoofs were very well done and very funny. And it’s not her fault that the liars in the MSM pretended that they were a news event and that it was Palin herself who said “I can see Alaska from my house.”
If they hadn’t used her spoof they would have just used more lying footage from elsewhere.
Of course it’s obvious why she got the award. It was a good job, but it was also political.

It’s an election open to all members of the Academy probably including Shanklin. Do you think the voting is fixed?

"Its an election open to all members of the Academy probably including Shanklin. Do you think the voting is fixed?" If "heavily slanted towards leftist politics" means 'fixed', then yes, I do think it's fixed.
To: jiminycricket000
Then what you really mean is that there aren’t enough conservatives in the Entertainment Industry.

They
are skewed left - and conservatives are "left out".
My suggestion is that we do what we did with the MSM - just turn them OFF. There isn't enough money in the world to make me watch an Emmy or Hollywood Academy Awards show.
I'm sick of the silly hatred of conservatives, I'm sick of the self serving greenie bull ( one square of toilet paper - but a dress for a $100,000 - with that 100 grand spreading carbon all over the world)
