One of the most common reactions to Obama and the lilt of his oh-so-smooth rhethoric is to believe that he is a voice of calmness, the voice of reason. Even people who disagree with the content of his words seem to find their flow to be soothing, reassuring. On a daily basis, society seems to slip farther and farther into incivility, hate speech, and cultural confrontation. By contrast, Obama's even-toned speeches, bright eyes and easy smile offer a refuge from the screaming mobs on either side of the liberal-conservative schism.
True? Absolutely false. Obama's rhetoric is a key element in stirring up the conflicts that border on violence. And I do mean the rhetoric...not the content of his policies but the manner in which he presents them. (Note: I find the content to be toxic as well but the rhetoric is my focus here.) It is necessary to ACTUALLY LISTEN TO HOW OBAMA ARGUES to understand how he is establishing an unbreachable division in what should be the public dialogue; avoid the lilt and lift of syllables and concentrate instead on the deeply divisive manner in which he presents policies.
An essential part of Obama's divisiveness is the portrayal of the items in his agenda as moral imperatives -- almost God-given -- to which no right thinking or decent human being could object. On June 9th, a headline on CBS News astutely observed "Obama Invokes Jesus More Often Than Bush." The article stated that Bush had invoked the name of Jesus a handful of times - but only in innocuous contexts, such as his Easter proclamation, a Christmas message and a proclamation on Salvation Army Week. By contrast,...as president, Barack Obama has mentioned Jesus Christ in a number of high-profile public speeches.

That’s OK with the Old Media and the rest of the left. They know Barak doesn’t really mean it.
