They came. They saw. They protested.
Yet it remains to be seen whether the demonstration Saturday in the nation's capital, against what protesters view as out-of-control spending by an expanding federal government, will conquer Washington.
The tens of thousands of protesters marched to the U.S. Capitol chanting various slogans and waving posters that voiced a rather broad array of grievances against big government and the leaders, particularly President Obama, who the protesters blame for its size and scope.
Some signs, reflecting the growing intensity of the health care debate, depicted President Obama with the signature mustache of Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler. Many made reference to Obama as a socialist or communist, and another imposed his face on that of the villainous Joker from "Batman." Other protesters waved U.S. flags and held signs espousing fiscal conservatism, declaring "I'm Not Your ATM" and "Go Green Recycle Congress."

Take the protest to the DC beltway at morning rush hour for a week or so. Drive your SUV ‘round the beltway a couple of times to help turn it into a better parking lot than it usually is (and help summer last longer).
And to CNN and MSNBC, it's just a small number of card carrying Confederation members. ; )
I was around five rows back, right in the center.
The best part was that any time any speaker announced anything Obaba has said, the whole crowd erupted with “HE LIES!”
That is just too funny! I won’t say what I think they look like.
On another note, if we added the numbers of all tea parties today to the Washington number I wonder what the national involvement would be. Any guess?
I heard on CBS Radio News that the crowd was waving Confederate and American flags. I did not see a single Comfederate flag there. A whole lot of Gasden Flags, but not a single Stars and Bars.
That's up from the "thousands" some were reporting.
