The relentless attacks on ACORN’s members, its staff and the policies and positions we promote are unprecedented. An international entertainment conglomerate, disguising itself as a “news” agency (Fox), has expended millions, if not tens of millions of dollars, in their attempt to destroy the largest community organization of Black, Latino, poor and working class people in the country. It is not coincidence that the most recent attacks have been launched just when health care reform is gaining traction. It is clear they’ve had these tapes for months.
We are their Willy Horton for 2009. We are the boogeyman for the right-wing and its echo chambers. If ACORN did not exist, the right-wing would have needed to create us in order to achieve their agenda, their missions, their ideal, retrograde America. This recent scam, which was attempted in San Diego, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Philadelphia to name a few places, had failed for months before the results we’ve all recently seen. I am appalled and angry; I cannot and I will not defend the actions of the workers depicted in the video, who have since been terminated. But it is clear that the videos are doctored, edited, and in no way the result of the fabricated story being portrayed by conservative activist “filmmaker” O’Keefe and his partner in crime. And, in fact, a crime it was – our lawyers believe a felony – and we will be taking legal action against Fox and their co-conspirators

Exactly. If she thinks her lawyers are going to even touch this one, they will be met with a huge civil RICO action by Fox, and they KNOW this, so you bet they won’t dare institute any legal action whatsoever. But you will hear repeated statements of how they are going to sue, because the MSM will repeat the “We’re going to sue!” mantra over and over....but there will be no “felony” action whatsoever. BTW, 60 minutes does an undercover story, and that’s great, but an independet does one, and they’re going to sue?? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Individuals can bring a civil RICO action, so we don’t need a corrupted Justice Dept. to do anything - just sit back and watch...

The only down side as you mentioned is that it is a civil action. I have no doubt that if some of our legal talent is interested, donations could happen and we could create a whole new critter, a “class action Rico”. Now that would be spreading it around...

Therre is no particular evidence the editing changed the content at issue.
The investigative reporters can quell this claim by simply posting the raw footage.
If I read your comment right your a minority and I just have to let you know how greatful I am to find someone like you. I am a 70 year old white female and you have
renewed my faith in people. When I was about 5 or 6 it was
a woulderful kind, soft and gentle elderly black lady who
taught me what segreation was. I rideing on the city bus one day when this little old lady got on. After a few minutes I noticed that whenever the bus stopped and started she would kinda lose her balance. So I got up out of my seat and told her to set down. That wonderful woman wouldn’t even look at me. She just looked strait ahead. Again I told her to set down. She looked strait ahead but
very carefuly and slowly shook her head no. I kept trying to get her to set down and she kept looking strait ahead
gentley shaking her head no. Finally I shut up and just stood there beside her. I couldn’t set down my Mamma would have killed. My little lady wouldn’t set down either. We just stook there side by side the empty seat in front of us. Somehow I began to feel unconfortable, like I had done something wrong, but I didn’t know what. At some point I felt something on my leg and looked down, it was that wounderful old woman patting me on my leg. She was trying to confort me and tell me it was O.K. It wasn’t until a couple of years later that I learned what segeration was. You wanna know the funny part of my story, I had been setting in her seat at the very back of the bus. I always sat there. I loved that long back seat. I hope you’ll understand that I’m only human and when I hear a story like the ones about Acorn I get angry. I hope
