Rep. Joe Wilson's home-state senator says he doesn't expect the South Carolina congressman to apologize on the House floor, as House Democrats are demanding.
"I don't think he's going to do any more apologizing," Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) said in an interview at the Taxpayer March on Washington. "They just don't want to talk about the bill."
DeMint said he has talked to Wilson, and he defended the conservative Congressman for shouting "You lie!" at President Obama during his address to a joint session of Congress this week.
"I'm glad he apologized for saying it in that setting, but he was telling the truth," DeMint said. "Walking around here I've had many people say 'We support Joe.'"

Wilson is right. Whether the “setting” was “appropriate” or not is irrelevant. The truth must be told. Most people don’t speak up until it’s too late. Wilson is just ahead of the game.
Anything short of what Joe did would have been ignored by the media. What he said had to be said.
Not until Charlie Rangel apologizes, and then resigns.
Indeed, what liberals like Rangel do is far “worse” than Joe Wilson.
Democrats are laughable. A leader who fraudulently conceals his past, ACORN, Rangel/Geithner/Ron Kirk, et al . . . they way they treated a good man like George Bush.
They’re the biggest bunch of crybabies ever. Just like spoiled children, all they can do is whine and demand.
as long as charlie resigns, he can forget the apology and just shut up.
A national candidate is born?
Dissent is Patriotic!
The Senator is correct.
No more apologizing.
He apologized to the President to whom the word was directed. So, it is done and over.
It’s just simply none of the business of anyone else. They just want blood and they ain’t gonna get it. Let them swing in their own bitterness.
Haven’t met a Joe yet that I haven’t liked begining with my brother and the one I married, our son and several other family members. He’s just a guy named Joe and one helluva guy at that. :)
I checked Wilson’s House Web page, and the only part accessible is his biography. What’s up with that?
HEADLINE = THEY FINALLY GET IT!
The House, the only place where the liar is lauded and the truth teller is scorned.
DeMint has always had a spine. He and Sessions led the assault on the amnesty bill, and they killed it, in spite of John McCain. No small feat.

There's a southern joke in there somewhere. ;-)
Palin / De Mint in 2012 or
Palin / Wilson in 2012.
Either ticket works for me.
a million bucks later...no, no apologies!
Good. Now’s the time for the rest of the GOP to stand with Wilson.
