Conservative protesters by the tens of thousands crowded outside the Capitol on Saturday, a massive demonstration aimed at stopping what organizers called the over-expansion of the federal government under the Obama administration.
"Hell hath no fury like a taxpayer scorned," declared Andrew Moylan, head of government affairs for the National Taxpayer Union, urging protesters to call their representatives.
The crowd gathered at the foot of the Capitol after a march along Pennsyvania Avenue from Freedom Plaza. Invocations of God and former President Reagan by the an array speakers drew loud cheers, echoing across the Mall. On a windy, overcast afternoon, hundreds of yellow "Don't Tread on Me" flags flapped in the breeze, mingled with U.S. and Texas state flags.
"You will not spend the money of our children and our grandchildren to feed an overstuffed government," Rep. Tom Price (R-Ga.) said of the Obama administration, drawing loud cheers from the throng.
Participants in the demonstrations span the spectrum of conservative anger at Obama, including opponents of his tax, spending and health-care plans and protesters who question Obama's U.S. citizenship and liken his administration to the Nazi regime. By 11 a.m., the route between Freedom Plaza and the Capitol was a sea of demonstrators chanting "USA!" and carrying signs such as, "Taxed enough already," "The audacity of dope" and, "Czars belong in Russia."
Most signs were hand made: "Socialism is UnAmerican," "King George Didn't Listen Either!" "Terrorists Won't Destroy America, Congress Will!" "The American Dream R.I.P." ...
Like countless others at the rally, Joan Wright, of Ocean Pines, Md., sounded angry. "I'm not taking this crap anymore," said Wright. "I don't like the health-care [plan]. I don't like the czars. And I don't like the elitists telling us what we should do or eat."

The crowd estimate seems a bit low, wouldn’t you say?
The title sucks! The people here are pro-government! Just not pro socialist government...Back to the Constitution!
Of course. That’s only the number of officially registered people. Looks more like 100K people to me than 30K.
I have heard “tens of thousands”, “hundreds of thousands”, and “1.5 million”. Still waiting for an “official” number.
This is the largest crowd in the history of this nation. Park police estimates are 1.5 million and growing.
100’s of thousands.....but don’t worry, 1 thing politicians can do is count, and they know how many are there....
How to distinguish Liberty from Tryanny:
| Liberty | "Soft" Tyranny | |
| 1 | Rights are inherent in, and unalienable from, individuals | Rights are granted/rescinded by the majority through the government |
| 2 | Fundamental rights are life, liberty, and property (absence of coercion) | Fundamental rights are food, housing, and healthcare (absence of necessity) |
| 3 | Property is owned by individuals who make decisions as to its use, improvement, and transfer | Property is owned by 'the public' with government officials making decisions as to its use, improvement, and transfer |
| 4 | Government exists to protect the rights of individuals | Government exists to plan and direct the resources of society |
| 5 | Government authority is decentralized in a federal system with limited and enumerated powers | Government authority is centralized in a national system with broad and necessarily intrusive powers |
| 6 | Government action is prescribed by rules fixed and announced beforehand | Government action is arbitrary and at the descretion of "czars" and planning boards |
| 7 | Economic activity is driven by a large number of small entities interacting according to simple rules | Economic activity is driven by a small number of large entities operating within the constraints of complex regulations |
| 8 | Effective innovation results from contrarian thinking, individual initiative, and the voluntary exchange of property | Efficient implementation of government planning requires conformity of opinion, collective action, and the coerced transfer of property |
| 9 | Standards of living for the many increase permanently as they utilize improved products and services conceived by the few | Standards of living for the many increase temporarily as they utilize property redistributed from the few |
| 10 | Altruism is using one's own resources in concrete acts to help specific individuals | Altruism is obligating the resources of others for broad-brush programs to help mankind in the abstract |
Rights exists solely as a way to fairly decide whose will shall prevail in cases where two or more people disagree. They do not exist for the purpose of enslaving one person for the benefit of another (e.g., the "right" to free medical care.)
Liberty is the right to do whatever does not infringe the rights of others. Rights empower you to help yourself, free from interference by others.
Tyranny makes you a serf to be used by the elite to further their own power. Once upon a time, the nobility used religion to convince the serfs they had to serve the nobility. Modernly, the elite use good people's feelings of altruism to convince them to enslave both themselves and their neighbors. It's basically the same con game, just using a more sophisticated hook.

Excellent post......

About 5x that number of people on a weekday could surround the Capital and not let anyone in of out.
Maybe I’m wrong, but that looks like more than “thousands of demonstrators.”
“Tens of thousands” my arse.
That HAS to be pushing a million.

I hear the screech of the American Freedom Eagle, she is Awake, Angry, has her Talons Drawn.
Beware! Those who threaten her now.
Two million... the wp is nothing but a lying festering canker of infection for the left and satan.
