Obama makes healthcare pitch to the insured (Obama lies! Obama trying to end private insurance)

President Barack Obama broadened his pitch for healthcare reform to Americans who have health insurance on Saturday, reminding them that they risk losing the coverage they have under the current system.

A Treasury Department report found about half of Americans under age 65 -- the age that the government Medicare insurance coverage starts -- would lose healthcare coverage at some point in the next 10 years, Obama said in his weekly radio address.

"If you're under the age of 21 today, chances are more than half that you'll find yourself uninsured at some point in that time. And more than one-third of Americans will go without coverage for longer than one year," Obama said.

Many Americans are wary of the need for insurance reform because they have health insurance through their employers, and Obama has said repeatedly that his program would not force them to change their insurance or doctors.

But polls have shown many are wary of reform because they do not believe they would benefit from a government program to ensure that all citizens have affordable insurance coverage, and worry that it would boost the burgeoning U.S. budget deficit and raise their taxes.

“And under our plan, once that happens, you will be under our control FOREVER! Bwah-hahahahahahahaha”

Not having medical insurance does not mean not having access to medical care.

Exactly. Medicaid was created for people who live in poverty and can't afford insurance but of course the MSM is pretending it doesn't exist and we just leave people on the streets to die.
No hospital can deny services for anyone in a life-threatening situation.
I was doing some research and found that anyone between the ages of 1 through 64 can get private insurance through private companies and they can even sign up on-line. The cost ranged anywhere from $20 a month to $600 a month but in no cases were there fewer than 7 company choices and hundreds of plans.
When my mom was 63 I found her health insurance on-line for $230 a month with a $2500 deductible, $30 copays and it covered preexisting conditions after a 6 month wait period for anything concerning the preexisting condition. I know it sounds a bit expensive but it was available.
For these yuts, 19 - 30 year olds, that are yelling about insurance, I've seen plans going for $80 a month. Some of these yuts spend 10 times that much on cell phones, cable, beer, cigs, pot, sporting events, etc.

I’m 48 and have several pre-existing conditions. I have never, as an adult, been without health insurance. There was a time when my husband changed jobs that the new insurance would not kick-in for three months so WE PURCHASED COBRA or some sort of gap insurance for emergencies. We all survived!

Admittedly, COBRA is very expensive and in my mom’s case it was cheaper to drop COBRA and go with another plan but at no point was she not covered.
