Darn straight. Its a bit late for Gordon Brown to be shouting the benefits of us “all being British”. He and the PC dolts who pass for the intelligensia in the Labour and Liberal establishment have been preaching division, devolution, and the benefits of individualism for decades. Given that kind of background, pro-Union sentiment in the UK is at an all time low.

What the proponents of Multiculturalism forget is that the Union allows individuality, but by promoting a higher concept of “Britishness” also subverts the deep tribal loyalties that stop us from trying to murder each other. There’s no problem if people are Scottish, Welsh, Irish, Manx, Christian, Muslim, Pagan, White, Black, socialist, capitalist, republican, loyalist, royalist, working-class, guardian readers or whatever, as long as they are primarily British. If that ever stops being true, there is going to be trouble.
