I understand your and others’ concerns on this thread. Plus my own.
So I’ll play “devil’s advocate” or, in this case, angel’s advocate....this is the SECOND big thing brought to an abrupt halt by the likes of Glen Beck, Bloggers, talk radio, Fox news and that sort.
The glass ceiling, as allegedly discriminated upon women used to say, has been cracked. Fox routinely now beats out CBS.
That mighty beast doesn’t go down easily but it’s going down and with each Friday night news dump like this the state-controlled media drops a bit more each time.
Plus don’t kid yourself folks, SOMEBODY out there is worried about the things going down in this country. I don’t for a minute believe that this 25 year old guy and girl did this all by themselves. There’s people, I’ll even go so far as to hint that some Dems might be in on it, that are now helping with these exposes and sorts of things that will now be a force to be reckoned with.
I’m betting that there was a deal struck over this....Rahm called...oh I dunno, maybe a repub getting ready to put up a bill to take funds away from ACORN.
“Okay Mike (as in PENCE)...what do you want?”
“THIS time, Rahm, you call the census bureau away from ACORN and visa versa. That’s only for this occasion, Rahm, because as you know, everybody’s got a cell phone, everybody’s got a camera, everybody’s got a tape recorder. More incidents like this and we make more deals. But for now, call ACORN and anything that might morph into an ACORN out of the census bureau and the 2010 census. Obama knew we were going to find a way around that but tell him nice try. You have the census bureau send a letter to congress vowing to remove ACORN from its association and we won’t be introducing any bills that will force the Dem congress critters to have to vote in FAVOR of child pornography. I’m thinking even CNN will have to cover that. And DON’T try anything, Rahm. We got Town Hallers and Tea Partyers all over this country and they’re all very willing to check out what’s going on in their home town. Deal, Rahm?”
Rahm, with a grumble, responds...”deal”.
You see....there’s eyes and ears and cameras and now, most important of all, a mighty chink has fallen from the state controlled media.
Fox won this and soon, if God is in his heaven, real journalists will be clammoring to work for Fox where you get to be a REAL journalist, maybe do neat stuff like going undercover.
Some call it implosion.
You may disagree with my assessment and I do tend to be an optimist.
But I think I’m right.

I used to be an optimist like you, but time and defeat by corruption has proven optimism to be a naive condition. I’m not quite ready to call it an ‘affliction’........yet.
