I've heard many defend unethical Republicans using the same, or similar, argument. Some folks don't seem to care what they do in their "private" time, as long as they do their jobs well. We need to hold ALL politicians to higher standards, and in this case any Democrat or Republican not speaking out against Rangel is complicit.
I don’t think he should just lose his Chairman seat, I think he should be forced to resign from Congress altogether and then face criminal charges. I have no doubt that he is guilty of several counts of fraud and tax evasion. I don’t necessarily believe that they would get a jury to convict him since we know the jury would be packed with his “constituents” who would be only to eager to participate in jury nullification. Nevertheless he should be charged just the same as we lesser serfs would.
The Congressional Black Caucus is racist, plain and simple. Right and wrong mean nothing to them. Justice is a perversion that they only recognize in regards to themselves and their causes.

Rangel is an arrogant and corrupt Rep as are many of the CBC.

Unfortunately, RATs never apologize — EVER. Republicans, on the other hand, have to apologize over and over until the RATs tell them they don’t have to do it anymore.
Race only unites in the hatred of whitey. There seems to be no cease fire in the internecine warfare on city streets.
