About 1,000 US troops in Afghanistan marked the eighth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks Friday by participating in a memorial run that spanned 9.11 kilometers at Bagram Air Field in Kabul.
Two other bases also took part in the run, which was dedicated also in memory of American troops who died in nearly eight years of fighting in the terror-stricken South-West Asian country.
Organizers of Friday's race called it an act of defiance against insurgents who inflicted the deadliest year for American military in 2009 since the beginning of the conflict. U.S. troop casualties were at its height in August, when 51 of them were killed in militant attacks.
Amen.
Did our best and finest take a day off battle to perform “service” as obama ordered the rest of us?
God Bless them, they now have the potentially worst CinC in history who truthfully cares nothing for them because most of them come from families whose values he secretly disparaged as “bitter clingers”.
A tribute to the troops- Until Then

“U.S. troop casualties were at its height”
Good story, apparently written by the holder of a discount journalism degree...

Is there any other kind these days?
“Did our best and finest take a day off battle to perform service as obama ordered the rest of us?”
No, Obama did ask the Taliban to bake cookies.
Thank you Silverleaf...that’s a wonderful tribute.
Journalism by hyperbole. Thank you sir for your service.
And you for yours. My dad flew Phantoms out of Da Nang Jan-Dec 70. Somber day today.
