Georgians will be out in full force at government spending protest in D.C.

Maybe it was the lousy economy. Or the bout with breast cancer that gave her a taste of American health care. Or the conversations with liberal friends that rattled her until she could sit still no more.

Joy McGraw didn’t get involved in politics until last November’s election, and never expected to become a activist.

Yet Friday, the 48-year-old real estate agent plans to lead a bus caravan of protesters from Georgia to Washington to participate in a giant march and rally against public health care, government spending, higher taxes — and most everything else that the Obama administration and the Democrat-led Congress are pushing these days....

..tens of thousands of people — most middle Americans, all fed up with government spending, taxes and fearful of government-run health care — are expected to converge on the capital.

“We are predicting the largest group of fiscal conservatives ever to gather in one place ... ” Matt Kibbe, president of FreedomWorks, said Thursday at a pre-rally event in Washington. ...

A group of Tea Party members from Savannah who also are Revolutionary War re-enactors is expected to lead a state-by-state procession of protesters on the nearly two-mile march to the Capitol. Plans call for protesters from Georgia to immediately follow the re-enactors . ...

Rep. Tom Price of Roswell, who plans to speak at Saturday’s event, attributed the grass fire of conservative protest expected to culminate with Saturday’s rally to what he calls the Obama administration’s failure to live up to its promises.

“The word and the deed don’t match,” Price said Thursday. “when that happens, you lose the trust of the people. That’s what happened the whole month of August, and that’s what’s happening here.”

At the White House, a spokeswoman had no immediate comment about the protest planned for Saturday.

Obama is on 60 Minutes 09/13 and is giving YET another major speech the following day. He knows people are protesting him, so he's going to try and drown them out.

I knew people would rise up sooner or later.

He's so enamored with his own greatness that he doesn't believe people can get sick of seeing his face = it's called over exposure.

Well, for me, I haven't watch a full half minute of him since Nov 4th.

Glenn Beck will be covering the tea party march from 1-3 pm EST. You can be sure the WH will be taping it.

I was really hoping he would show up and give a speech Saturday afternoon in DC to all the tea partiers and well, come clean after a life of radicalism.

Rep. Tom Price of Roswell ... attributed the ... conservative protest ... to what he calls the Obama administration’s failure to live up to its promises.

Huh? Is he really THAT stupid? During the campaign, Obama promised wealth redistribution, to destroy capitalism, to wipe out the coal industry, to make it impossible to build new power plants, to punish God fearing "bitter clingers." I think the administration is doing a good job of living up to its promises.

The protest is all about the restoration of a Constitutional Republic and the overthrow of Tyrannical Socialism and the Despot in Chief.

How could a supposed conservative get through April to August and NOT REALLY GET IT?? Brain dead is my guess.

I say let him try his best. If that dope actually believes the CNN poll which gives his health care coup 66% public approval, and I'll bet he does, then he will continue to make an even bigger fool of himself and his entire party.(And all of their supporters) This amateur thinks that the American public can be scolded into submission. We'll see about that.

All good points.

He also promised the most transparent administration in US history, to bring the country together, and to have no lobbyists on his staff, to name a few broken promises.

But you’re right. Price was either being polite, was only partially quoted (a sin for which reporters are famous), or is hopelessly braindead.
