That’s the problem with being at war when your own leaders are hostile to the military. It was the same under Clinton. Emotionally, at least, the Democrat left has trouble taking national defense seriously. So we take unnecessary casualties to make the UN and our domestic anti-war left happy and to be “better liked around the world”.
Maybe George Will was right. Good article, anyway.
Every time I watch the movie Blackhawk Down I want to spit nails.
I can't believe it, but I'm siding with Will on Afghanistan. Weakened and politicized ROEs, a corrupt government, and a populace stuck in the Dark Ages, is an equation for disaster.
Allow me to add: a Commander-in-Chief who knows less about military strategy than a buck private on his first day of boot camp. Hell, at least Clinton commanded the Arkansas National Guard as governor.
