Wait, so the harvester of green shoots that become crops has to lay off people?
Is there something I’m missing here?

I’m so glad the “Stimulus” is working.

But it’s all OK because Deere has about 50,000 employees. Therefore, the stimulus is working.

Thank Obama that all those other jobs were saved. We need to kiss the ground Obama walks on for allowing the other people to still be employed.

Union workers?
Perhaps they were identified by the union as ‘unreliable’ due to unsavory political inclinations.

Here's more hopey changey stuff for all (since the recession is ending according to the "experts" (and I use the term lightly):
Seed company Monsanto plans deeper staff cuts
In June, Monsanto had said it was cutting about 4 percent of its staff, or about 900 jobs. The new target of 8 percent indicates the St. Louis-based company is cutting about 1,736 jobs.
GM to lay off about 1,000
General Motors Co. needs to lay off about 1,000 white-collar workers this month because only 1,900 accepted early retirement and buyout offers, the automaker said Wednesday.

I really got tired of Gartner pimping outsourcing for so many years. They are now talking about "insourcing." Isn't that just doing business the normal way?

For today's managers to get excited and motivated about something, it must come with an accompanying new buzzword.
Just think of how cutting-edge you'll sound at your next party when you go on and on about the benefits of INsourcingTM © ® !

But we only had a half million people filing initial claims for unemployment! /s
To: abigailsmybaby
Obama’s amazing. Just yesterday he reduced the number of people without health insurance by 16 million! We had been stuck at 46 million for months by his own reckoning until last night when he revealed that we’re suddenly down to 30 million. /s
