I do have some physical gold in a lock box.
Mostly Krugerrands and Maple Leafs bought back when Carter was president.
I'm still waiting for my rate of return on those to go positive....... I thought gold peaked at $850 during the Carter years, and at today's $1000, you should be positive.

Accounting for inflation I believe that $850 is somewhere around $3,000 in today’s dollar.
