WASHINGTON (CNN) — Two out of three Americans who watched President Barack Obama's health care reform speech Wednesday night favor his health care plans — a 14-point gain among speech-watchers, according to a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation national poll of people who tuned into Obama's address Wednesday night to a joint session of Congress........

...........The sample of speech-watchers in this poll was 45 percent Democratic and 18 percent Republican. Our best estimate of the number of Democrats in the voting age population as a whole indicates that the sample is about 8-10 points more Democratic than the population as a whole.

This is something right out of North Korea, or from Baghdad Bob.

Who in their right mind would believe that with all of the outrage over the past few weeks, and with the scant details provided on funding, that there was a 14 point jump?

The key wording is folks who watched the speech. I’m willing to bet the 40% of his remaining supporters made up a large percentage of the viewing audience last night.

” a 14-point gain among speech-watchers “

I haven’t seen the ratings numbers for the speech...

I’d imagine that the ‘speech-watchers’ were overwhelmingly Obamabots.... Probably they ‘polled’ the CNN personnel who *had* to watch.....

Key Senator Says ‘Time Has Come’ to Act on Health Care [Republicans Not Needed!]

This is what passes for strategy in the DNC. They know the voters are against this, so they are going All In to bluff Republicans into supporting the Dim bill. Then the Dims can lie to voters next Fall and say they wouldn’t have pushed the bill through if a sufficient number of Republicans had not voted for it.

Some Republicans will fall for this. The State Run Media might even cook up some polls showing a 10 to 15 point move after The Speech.

They add at the end that the majority of viewers were Dems anyway, so I don’t expect much change here except an uptick among Dems.

Typically, these speeches don’t move things much except for a week or two.

Well-l-l... there's some context here. Read further into the CNN story -- the findings aren't so unexpected, since dems comprised the majority of watchers. No worries.

Sixty-seven percent of people questioned in the survey say the support Obama's health care reform proposals that the president outlined in his address, with 29 percent opposed. Those figures are almost identical to a poll conducted immediately after Bill Clinton's health care speech before Congress in September, 1993. The audience for the speech appears to be more Democratic than the U.S. population as a whole. Because of this, the results may favor Obama simply because more Democrats than Republicans tune into the speech. The poll surveyed the opinions of people who watched Wednesday night's speech, and does not reflect the views of all Americans.

I don’t know. I just keep remembering how many morons voted him into this office in the first place. I pray this is just CNN playing prairie frisbee, but it wouldn’t surprise me if it turned out to have some truth to it.

a 14-point gain among speech-watchers

Such absolute ridiculous propaganda from these stinkin communists.

So I assume they polled these same "speech-watchers" before the speech to see what their opinions were going in? And then they polled those same people after to find that 14% had changed their mind. Hence a 14 point gain? Hardly.

They are intentionially mismatching one representative sample with another poll result.

What trash. This stuff from the press is just getting ridiculous. May they continue to lose viewers, sponsors, and money.

A poll is an attempt to extrapolate from a few into the general population. They do not even try to do this with the makeup of the poll being 45 percent Democratic and 18 percent Republican.

It’s now official, CNN is the new Pravda.
