I appreciate your point of view.

The dynamics of the show will change drastically without Paula. Many of us used to tune in each week just to see how spacy and outrageous Paula would be. She was often the topic of delightful satire on jonny’s FR thread.

We can’t do that with Ellen. First of all, we would be accused of homophobia. Secondly, Ellen is going to be too darn kind to the contestants. That does not make for good drama.

I am willing to give Ellen a chance. If she doesn’t get in-your-face political on the show, she might work out.

Anyway, I have to watch if I want to fully participate in the weekly snarking on jonny’s thread.

The thread is often better than the actual show.

I'm glad to hear people who will give Ellen a chance before they quit watching.

Ellen has a sense of humor along the same lines as Steve Martin. I can't define it, but you'll see..

And like you, I do look forward to reading the remarks on jonny's thread..:)
